Nero (54-68). AR Denarius, Rome mint, 64-65. Obv. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS. Laureate head right, with beard. Rev. IVPPITER CVSTOS. Jupiter, bare to waist, cloak round lower limbs, seated, left on throne, holding thunderbolt in right hand and long sceptre in left. RIC I (2nd ed.) 53. AR. 3.55 g. 18.5 mm. Scarce. Good example with enchanting iridescent tone. Slight wear on the high points. Highly attractive and of pleasing appearance. Rare as such. About EF.
