Probus (276-282). BI Antoninianus. Rome mint, 278 AD. Obv. IMP PROBVS AVG. Radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust left, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with five rows of pellets. Rev. ADVENTVS AVG. Probus riding horse left, holding scepter and raising hand; to left, bound captive seated left; in exergue, R (crescent) Γ. RIC V 157. BI. 4.07 g. 24.5 mm. Superb example, with traces of silvering. Good EF.
