Greek Italy. Bruttium, Kroton. AR Stater, c. 530-500 BC. Obv. QPO / [T]ON. Tripod, legs surmounted by wreaths and terminating in lion's feet; two serpents rising from the bowl, set on dotted basis. Rev. Incuse tripod as obverse, but wreaths and serpents in outline. SNG ANS 235; HN Italy 2075; Gillet 285. AR. 7.17 g. 31 mm. Sharply struck and deeply toned with some blue iridescence. About EF.
