Julia Maesa (died 225 AD). AE Sestertius, Rome mint, 218-222. Obv. IVLIA MAESA AVGVSTA. Diademed and draped bust right, hair waved and turned up low at the back. Rev. PVDICITIA S C. Pudicitia, draped, seated left, drawing veil over face with right hand and holding sceptre in left hand. RIC IV Elagabalus 420. AE. 23.06 g. 33 mm. R. Rare and seldom offered, among the finest known. Impressive bold portrait. Minor traces of smoothing on reverse. Green and cuprite red patina. Good EF/EF.
