Sicily. Leontini. AR Tetradrachm, c. 430-425 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Apollo left. Rev. LEONTINON. Lion's head left, with open jaws and protruding tongue; around, three barley grains and, behind the head, a laurel leaf. SNG ANS 257 (same dies); HGC 2 671; Boehringer, Münzgeschichte 55 (same dies); Rizzo pl. XXIV, 4 (same dies). 17.69 g. 25.5 mm. Superb style, nicely centred and struck. Small die-break. Good VF.
