Germanicus (died in 19 AD). AE Dupondius, struck under Caligula, 37-41. Obv. GERMANICVS CAESAR. Germanicus, bare-headed and cloaked, standing in quadriga, right, holding eagle tipped sceptre. Rev. SIGNIS RECEPT DEVICTIS GERM S C. Germanicus bare-headed and cuirassed with tunic standing, left, right hand raised and left hand holding eagle. RIC I (2nd ed.) (Caligula) 57. AE. 15.19 g. 29.60 mm. A choice example with lovely chocolate patina. Good VF.
