Sicily. Syracuse. Second Democracy (466-405 BC). AE Hemilitra, c. 405-400 BC. Obv. Head of Arethusa left, wearing necklace and hair in sphendone. Rev. ΣYPA. Wheel of four spokes, with dolphin in lower quarters. HGC 2 1479; CNS II 22. AE. 2.84 g. 17.50 mm. RR. Overstruck, the design of the host coin (head right, surrounded by dolphins) is clearly visible on obverse - upside down. A very interesting study type. Smoothed. Good VF.
