Lucius Verus (161-169). AE Sestertius, Rome mint, 165 AD. Obv. L AVREL VERVS AVG ARMENIACVS. Laureate head right. Rev. TR POT V IMP II COS II SC. Mars advancing right, holding spear and trophy. RIC III (M. Aurel.) 1420; C. 182. AE. 23.65 g. 34.50 mm. Outstanding example with a magnificent portrait; sharply struck on a broad medallic flan. Lovely glossy olive green patina. Very minor marks, otherwise. EF.
