Egyptian light blue faience amulet depicting the head of the god Bes in his classical representation with a crown of feathers on his head, a broad bearded face with large eyes and a flattened nose. Through-hole at the base of the feather crown.
Height: 33 mm.
Intact, minor wears on the surface. The god Bes, depicted as a fat, bearded, feral dwarf, was considered by the ancient Egyptians to be the protector of the home, of sleep and of women in labour.
