Augustus (27 BC-14 AD) with C. Antinstius Reginus. AR Denarius, Rome mint, 13 BC. Obv. CAESAR AVGVSTVS. Bare head right. Rev. C ANTISTIVS REGINVS [III V]IR. The sacrificial implements: simpulum and lituus above, tripod and patera below. RIC I (2nd ed.) 410. AR. 3.79 g. 19 mm. R. Rare. Superb portrait, well centred on a broad flan and lovely light iridescent tone. Two insignificant banker's marks (L and X) on obverse, otherwise. good VF. Antistius Reginus was a legate of Caesar in Gaul and a friend of Cicero.
