Anthemius (467-472). AV Solidus. Rome mint, 468 AD. Obv. D N ANTHEMIVS P F AVG. Helmeted, pearl-diademed and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman and fallen enemy motif. Rev. SALVS REIPVBLICAE. Anthemius and Leo I, in military attire, standing facing, holding spears and supporting globus cruciger between them; Christogram in lower central field, CORMOB in exergue. RIC X 2822; Lacam 71-3; Depeyrot 63/1; LRC 917. AV. 4.47 g. 20.00 mm. RR. Superb and brilliant, lightly toned. Minor traces of antique application of suspension loop (?) on reverse upper edge. EF.
