L. Cornelius Scipio Asiagenus. AR Denarius serratus, 106 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Jupiter left. Rev. Jupiter in quadriga right; above, to right of sceptre, R; in exergue, L·SCIP·ASIAG. Cr. 311/1d. AR. 3.81 g. 20.00 mm. A superb and brilliant example, perfectly centred on a broad flan, and lightly toned, with golden hues. EF. Crawford suggests that the moneyer was L. Cornelius Scipio Asiaticus.
