Sicily. Thermai Himerenses. AR Litra, c. 383-376/367 BC. Obv. ΘEPMITAN. Head of Hera right, wearing polos; behind, monogram AP. Rev. Herakles seated left on rock draped with lion skin, holding club; to right, ΑΙΣ and bow. HGC 2 1614; Campana 2C; Catalogue of Greek coins in the Hunterian collection, University of Glasgow, 3 (apparently no monogram on obv.). 0.54 g. 12.00 mm. RRR. Extremely rare with the letters ΑΙΣ on reverse, apparently unpublished. Campana cites only one specimen (Glasgow 3; but apparently without monogram on obverse). Lightly toned, minor roughness. Good VF.
