Q. Cassius Longinus. AR Denarius, 55 BC. Obv. Head of Libertas right; behind, LIBERT; before, Q·CASSIVS. Rev. Temple of Vesta, within curule chair; on left, urn; on right, tablet inscribed AC (Absolvo/Condemno). Cr. 428/2; B. (Cassia) 8. AR. 3.89 g. 18.50 mm. Brilliant and superb, with underlying lluster. Gouge on obverse, otherwise. good EF. The gouge across the reverse surface is an 'adjustament al marco' before striking (cf. Clive Stannard, Metallurgy in Numismatics III, RSN n. 24, 1993, pp. 45-70).
