Greek Italy. Lucania, Poseidonia-Paestum. AR Nomos, c. 510 BC. Obv. ΠΟΣ. Poseidon, diademed and wearing chlamys over shoulders, advancing r. and hurling trident in upraised right hand. Rev. The same type incuse left, without dolphin. Ethnic in relief. HN Italy 1107. AR. 7.44 g. 28.00 mm. RRR. Apparently unrecorded die. Sound metal. Lovely delicate patina with golden hues, enchanting underlying luster. EF.
