Germanicus (died 19 AD). AE Dupondius, struck under Caligula, 37-41 AD. Obv. GERMANICVS CAESAR. Germanicus driving triumphal quadriga right, holding eagle-tipped scepter and reins. Rev. SIGNIS - RECEPT / DEVICTIS - GERM / S -C. Germanicus standing left, raising hand and holding aquila. RIC I (2nd ed.) (Gaius) 57. AE. 14.67 g. 28.50 mm. A pleasant example. Light brown patina, with brassy highlights. VF.
