C. Vibius C. f. C. n. Pansa Caetronianus. AR Hybrid Denarius, 48 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Libertas right; behind, LIBERTATIS. Rev. Jupiter laureate, seated left, holding patera and sceptre; on right, C·VIBIVS·C·F·C·N; on left, IOVI·SAXVR (legend curved around). Cr. 449/4 and 449/1; B. (Vibia) 20 and 18; AAA 432.4. AR. 3.96 g. 17.50 mm. RRR. Sound metal and full weight. An extremely rare and apparently unpublished hybrid example. Nice, brilliant and lightly toned, with golden hues. VF.
