The Triumvirs. Mark Antony and Octavian. AR Denarius. Spring-early summer 41 BC. Ephesus mint; M. Barbatius Pollio, quaestor pro praetore. Obv. M. ANT. IMP. AVG. III. VIR. R.P.C. BARBAT. Q. P. Bare head of Mark Antony right. Rev. CAESAR IMP. PONT. III. VIR. R.P.C. Bare head of Octavian right, with slight beard. Cr. 517/2. AR. 3.86 g. 19.00 mm. A superb example, perfectly centred and prettily toned, with golden highlights.
Insignificant scratch on Mark Antony's neck, otherwise. EF.
