Continental Greece. Kings of Macedon. Alexander III 'the Great' (336-323 BC). AR Tetradrachm. Struck under Philip III Arrhidaios, uncertain mint in Cilicia. Obv. Head of young Herakles right, wearing lion skin. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY. Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; wreath in left field, ΔI below throne. Price 2949 (Side (?) mint). AR. 17.22 g. 27.00 mm. Of good style and well centred on a broad flan. Interesting (banker's?) countermark on Herakles' chin. Good VF.
