Aes Premonetale. Aes Signatum. Fragment of a bronze ingot. Latium, 6th-4th century BC. Obv. Large M within shallow semicircular incuse. Rev. Plain, small metal flaw. Unlisted in the standard references. AE. 54.12 g. RR. mm. 36x31x11. A very rare and enigmatic item. Lovely glossy earthen dark green patina.
