Egyptian steatite stone figurine depicting the god Bes in his classical representation with a crown of feathers on his head, a broad bearded face and a flattened nose. Eye of Horus engraved below his feet.
Dimensions: 43.5 x 23 mm.
Height: 33 mm. Restored, with damages. The god Bes, depicted as a fat, bearded, feral dwarf, was considered by the ancient Egyptians to be the protector of the home, of sleep and of women in labour.
