Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Sidion. AE 15 mm. c. 300-275 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Zeus right; behind, grain ear. Rev. ΣΙΔΙΝΩΝ. Herakles standing right, leaning on club set on rock. HN Italy 822; BMC 1-2; HGC 1 646. AE. 2.83 g. 15 mm. RRR. This is the only known and extremely rare issue of this mint. Very well preserved example with clear symbol on obverse. Slightly rough surfaces. VF/Good VF.
