Ostrogothic Italy, Baduila (541-552). AR Quarter siliqua. Pseudo-Imperial Coinage. In the name of Justinian I or Anastasius. Obv. D N [- - -]. Pearl-diademed and cuirassed bust right, wearing imperial mantle. Rev. DN/ BADV/ ANA/ RIX in four lines within wreath. Cf. MEC 1, 156 var. (legend on reverse); Cf. COI 70 var. (same); Cf. Ladich 10-11 and 14-15 var. (same). AR. 0.55 g. 12 mm. RRR. Apparently unlisted variety in the legend on reverse (BADVANA). Extremely rare blundered type. Good VF.
