Valentinian III (425-455). AV Tremissis, Ravenna (or Rome) mint, 440-455. Obv. DN PLA VALENTINANVS P F AV. Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right. Rev. Latin cross pattée within wreath with central jewel; in exergue, COMOB. RIC X 2071 (Rome and/or Ravenna); Ranieri 105-107; Depeyrot 47/8 (Rome); Lacam 37 (Rome). AV. 1.45 g. 14.5 mm. RR. Very rare and choice, with a peculiar portrait style. Minor metal flaws on reverse. Good VF/EF.
