Philip I (244-249). AE Sestertius, Rome mint, 245 AD. Obv. IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. ADVENTVS AVGG SC. Philip on horseback riding left, raising hand and holding sceptre. RIC IV 165 corr. (horse left, not right). AE. 17.87 g. 30 mm. R. Seldom offered reverse type. Choice example with mesmerizing brown patina and blueish deposits. Rare as such. EF.
