Spintriae were small, token-like objects used in the Roman Empire, typically made of bronze or brass, featuring erotic imagery on one side and a numeral (usually I to XVI) on the other. Their exact function remains debated; while some scholars suggest they served as brothel tokens or vouchers, others propose they were gaming pieces or objects of private amusement.
