Maximinus I (235-238). AE Sestertius, Rome mint, 235-236. Obv. IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. FIDES MILITVM S C. Fides, draped, standing front, head left, holding military standard in each hand. RIC IV 43. AE. 21.78 g. 30 mm. Interesting error on the reverse: the standard on the right hand side appears doubled. It can be an error in the minting (although as nothing else appears doubled, it is unlikely) or a sign of a partially reworked die. Interesting study piece. Cleaning marks. VF.
