Germanicus (died in 19 AD). AE Dupondius. Struck under Caligula, 37-41. Obv. GERMANICVS CAESAR. Germanicus, bare-headed and cloaked, standing in quadriga, right, holding eagle tipped sceptre. Rev. SIGNIS RECEPT DEVICTIS GERM S C. Germanicus bare-headed and cuirassed with tunic standing, left, right hand raised and left hand holding eagle. RIC I (2nd ed.) (Gaius) 57. AE. 14.87 g. 30 mm. R. Good example with lovely chocolate patina. Metal flaws. VF.
