Greek Italy. Central and Southern Campania, Nuceria Alfaterna. AR Didrachm, c. 250-225 BC. Obv. Head of Carneius left, ram's horn in hair; Oscan legend 'nukrinum alafaternum' around. Rev. Dioskouros standing left beside horse, holding reins and spear; Oscan legend in exergue. HN Italy 608; Cf. SNG BN 1099. AR. 6.87 g. 20.8 mm. RR. Very rare type with legend on reverse. Centred and complete example with large flan. Light scratches and minor nicks. VF.
