Theodosius II (402-450). AV Solidus. Struck 441-450 AD. Constantinople mint. Obv. DN THEODOSIVS PF AVG. Helmeted and cuirassed three-quarter facing bust, holding spear over shoulder and shield with horseman motif. Rev. IMP XXXXII COS XVII PP. Constantinopolis enthroned left, holding globus cruciger and sceptre, resting left foot on prow; star to left; in exergue, CONOB. RIC X 312. AV. 4 g. 21.5 mm. Brilliant and choice. Intruguing graffiti in the shape of a cross on obverse. Slightly wavy flan. About EF.
