Plautilla (died 212 AD). AR Denarius, Rome mint, 202-205. Obv. PLAVTILLAE AVGVSTAE. Draped bust right, hair coiled in ridges, fastened in bun at back. Rev. PROPAGO IMPERI. Caracalla, togate, standing left, clasping right hands with Plautilla, draped, standing right. RIC IV (Carac.) 362; C. 21. 3.43 g. 19 mm. Scarce. Virtually as struck. Superb example, lightly toned with lovely golden hues. Area of weak strike, otherwise. about FDC.
