Nero (54-68) with Poppaea. BI Tetradrachm. Alexandria mint (Egypt). Dated RY 11 (AD 64/5). Obv. ΝΕΡΩ ΚΛΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΣΕΒ ΓΕΡ AY. Radiate head of Nero right, with steps hairstyle. Rev. ΠOΠΠAIA ΣEBAΣTH. Draped bust of Poppaea right; LIA (date) before. K&G 14.85; RPC I 5282; Dattari (Savio) 197-8. BI. 13.13 g. 25 mm. Superb example with a fascinating portrait of Poppaea. Nice delicate warm tone over original underlying luster. EF.
