About EF. The striking depiction on the reverse of this denarius celebrates Octavian's victories. After the defeat of Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra, Octavian returned to the Senate the special powers he had been entrusted with for the war, as Roma was still a Republic. Despite this, in this issue, Octavian still bears the title of Imperator on the reverse.
