Mn. Fonteius C.f. AR Denarius, 85 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Apollo right; below, thunderbolt; behind, MN·FONTEI (MN and NT ligate); before, C·F. Rev. Cupid seated on goat right; above, pilei; in exergue, thyrsus; around, laurel-wreath. Cr. 353/1c; B. (Fonteia) 10; RRSC D 148.1c. AR. 4.03 g. 21.00 mm. Great metal, full weight and broad flan. An outstanding example, brilliant and prettily toned, with golden highlights. Virtually as struck. About FDC.
