Greek Asia. Seleucid Kings. Antiochos III 'the Great' (223-187 BC). AR Tetradrachm, Seleukos ad Tigris mint, from 204 BC. Obv. Diademed head right, in middle age, with features less idealized than in preceding, tousled hair, marked baldness at temple, thick diadem ends waving upward. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ / ANT-IOXOY, Apollo seated left on omphalus, testing arrow in right hand, left hand on grounded bow behind; complex monogram in outer left field, ΔIΩO monogram in outer right field. SC 1197.3. CSE 975. AR. 16.96 g. 29.50 mm. A nice example. Blackish tone. Smoothed, otherwise. EF.
