Antioch. Raymond of Poitier (1136-1149). BI Denier, crude style. Obv. Beardless head right. Rev. Patent cross. Malloy 15; Schl. pl. II, 17; Metcalf 335/339. BI. 1.03 g. 17.50 mm. VF. In 1136, Raymond of Poitiers, who have been called from France by Folques, arrived at Antioch to marry Costance and take up the responsibilities of Prince. Probably later in his reign Raymond began Antioch's first issue of billon deniers.
