The river-god Danube, holding reed in his left hand and with billowing drapery above his head, standing left, placing knee on Dacia, whom he forces to the ground. RIC II 556-559 var. (differing bust types). AE. 28.54 g. 37.00 mm. R. Rare. A spectacular example of this fascinating issue, sharply struck on a broad medallic flan, from masterly engraved and detailed dies. Superb portrait and enchanting emerald green patina. Fields slightly and gently smoothed, otherwise. about EF.
