Julia Paula, first wife of Elagabalus (219-220). AE 33 mm. Anazarbus mint, Cicilia. Obv. [ I ] KOP ΠAVΛA CЄB. Veiled, diademed and draped bust right. Rev. ANAZ ЄNΔOIOY MЄTPOΠ. Nike on globe standing left, holding wreath and trophy; in field, A/M/K- B/Γ. SNG BN -; SNG Levante -; SNG von Aulock -; Ziegler, Kilikien-. Ziegler, Kaised Vs 1/-. AE. 15.56 g. 33 mm. RRR. Extremely rare, apparently unpublished. Superb glossy dark green patina, with pleasant earthen deposits on legends. VF.

Julia Cornelia Paula, the first of Elagabalus' three wifes, was married in 219 AD and divorced the following year (D.R. Sear, Greek Imperial Coins, p. 299).
