Maximinus I (235-238). AR Denarius, 235 AD. Obv. IMP MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. PM TR P PP. Emperor standing left, between two standards, leaning left on spear and raising right. RIC IV 1. AR. 2.83 g. 19.50 mm. The first issue of Maximinus I, here vaguely resembling Severus Alexander. A superb example, perfectly centred, brilliant and nicely toned, with golden hues. Good EF.
