Agrippina Senior, wife of Germanicus and mother of Caligula (died 33 AD). AE Sestertius, struck under Claudius. Obv. AGRIPPINA M F GERMANICI CAESARIS. Draped bust right, hair in long plait. Rev. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GERM PM TR P IMP PP around large SC. RIC I (2nd ed.) (Claud.) 102; C. 3 (fr. 8). AE. 27.70 g. 35.50 mm. Scarce. An attractive example. Restored. Pleasant toned orichalcum surfaces, with green hues. Minor brassy tones at the reverse. EF/Good EF.
