H series. AR Quinarius, uncertain Apulian mint, 212 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Roma right; behind, V. Rev. The Dioscuri galloping right; behind horses, H; in exergue, ROMA. Cr. 85/1b. AR. 2.24 g. 17.00 mm. R. Very rare variety, with H behind horse's legs. Superb example, with bold reliefs. Enchanting light tone over brilliant surfaces; few light deposits on reverse, minor gash on reverse edge, almost invisible flan cracks. Good EF.
