C. Aurunculeius, Praetor of Sardinia. AE Sextans, Sardinia, c. 209 BC; overstruck on a Second Punic War (c. 220-215 BC) Sardinian bronze Tanit/Bull, star with 8 points above. Obv. Head of Hercules right; behind, three pellets; below chin, star with 8 points of undertype. Rev. Prow right; above, ROMA; before, AVR (ligate); below, three pellets. Cr. 65/5. AE. 4.85 g. 21.00 mm. RRR. Extremely rare and choice. Broad flan and lovely dark green patina. About EF.
