Greek Asia. Persis. Vādfradād (Autophradates) I. AR Tetradrachm. Istakhr (Persepolis) mint. 3rd century BC. Obv. Head right, with mustache and earring, wearing diadem and kyrbasia. Rev. Fire temple of Ahura-Mazda; above, half-figure of Ahura-Mazda; to left, Vādfradād standing right, bow set on ground before; standard to right. Cf. K&M 2/17 (for type); cf. Alram 533 (same); cf. De Morgan 12a and pl. XXVII, 19 (same); cf. BMC 1 (same); Sunrise –. AR. 16.19 g. 34.00 mm. Impressive coin. Lightly toned, overstruck on previous type. Good vF.
