Sicily. Syracuse. Dionysos I (405-367 BC). AV 20 Litrai – Tetradrachm. Struck circa 405-400 BC. Obv. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square, ΣΥΡΑ in quarters; in deeper incuse circle in center, small female head (Arethousa?) left, wearing necklace. HGC 2 -; cf. 1289 (head left); SNG ANS -; cf 350 ff (same); SNG ANS ; cf. Bérend pl. XI, 3; cf. Boehringer, Münzprägungen, pl. I, 6; cf. Rizzo pl. XLVIII, 9. AV. 1.14 g. 10.00 mm. RRR.
