Charioteer, holding kentron and reins, driving slow quadriga right; above, Nike flying right with wings spread, crowning horses with wreath; in exergue, ketos right. Rev. Head of Arethousa right, wearing tainia; ΣVRΑKΟΣΙΟΝ and four dolphins around. HGC 2 1311; Boehringer Series XV, 541 ; Jameson 763; de Luynes 1173. AR. 17.27 g. 25.50 mm. A wonderful portrait of finest classical style. Delicate patina with warm underlying luster. VF.
