Greek Italy. Southern Lucania, Metapontum. AR Nomos, c. 540-510 BC. Obv. Ear of barley with six grains; ME upward on right, TA downward on left. Rev. Incuse ear of barley with seven grains. HN Italy 1470; Noe 87 (same dies); SNG ANS -; Dewing 352 (same dies). AR. 8.08 g. 30.00 mm. RR. Very rare die pair. Great metal. Delicate pale patina, underlying luster. Peripheral scratches on reverse, to the edge. About EF.
