L. Rubrius Dossenus. AR Denarius, Rome mint 87 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Jupiter right; on the left, sceptre; below DOSSEN. Rev. Triumphal quadriga right, decorated with thunderbolt; above, Victory with wreath; in exergue, [L·]RVBRI. Cr. 348/1; B. 1 (Rubria). AR. 3.91 g. 18.00 mm. Great metal and full weight. A brilliant example, with underlying luster. Gash on reverse and consequent flatness on obverse, otherwise. EF/Good EF. About the interesting gash across the reverse surface, see : C.
