C. Mamilius Limetanus. AR Denarius serratus, Rome mint, 82 BC. Obv. Draped bust of Mercury right; on the left, caduceus and I (control-letter). Rev. Ulysses standing right, holding staff in left hand and extending his right hand to his dog Argus; on the left, C·MAMIL; on the right, LIMETAN (TA ligate). Cr. 362/1; B. 6 (Mamilia). AR. 3.97 g. 20.00 mm. Sound metal, full weight and broad flan. A very attractive example, well centred, brilliant and superb. EF.
