L. Memmius Galeria. AR Denarius serratus, 106 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Saturn left; behind, harpa and ROMA. Rev. Venus in biga right, Cupid flies above; below the horse's leg, A and dot; in exergue, L. MEMMI/GAL. Cr. 313/1; B. 2. AR. 3.86 g. 18.50 mm. A choice example, perfectly centred and brilliant, with underlying luster. Lovely iridescent old cabinet tone, with reddish hues. Good VF.
