Acre. Commune of Acre (1231-1243) (?). BI Denier. D/ Patriarchal cross, simbols (?) in lower angles. R/ Patent cross. Malloy 52; Schl. pl. III, 27; Metcalf 146. BI. 0.94 g. 17.50 mm. RRR. Extremely rare issue. Metcalf suggests that an early 1100s date for these still remains a possibility. The matter is still open, pending the recovery of this series in a context with other coins. VF.
